I believe that every child can and will learn. Every child does not learn as a result of the same teaching strategies, therefore it is imperative for variety to be presented in the classroom. Strong classroom management is one of the major keys to a productive school year. Students will need to be assessed in various ways. It is my responsibility as an educator to provide a positive learning environment that will in result have a positive impact on a child’s future. The future is the present, therefore society must treat it as such. It is my belief that every child has in his/her possession, the skills to be successful in the classroom and beyond. Interdisciplinary studies are good tools for educational advancement. Teamwork and collaboration with fellow educators allows students to expand their knowledge. Each student deserves another chance to be successful in the classroom. One grade alone should not determine the overall evaluation of a child’s educational status. Students should know that education is a tool that follows them throughout their entire life. Together we can create a better tomorrow.
This is my seventh year teaching overall, and my third year as an educator at LaVega. For the past two years, I taught 6th grade Reading at LaVega Intermediate, and I'm excited about teaching 7th Grade ELAR this year! I am a PROUD LaVega High School graduate, and I obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas. GO EAGLES! I was named Teacher of the Year for LaVega Intermediate School for the 2015-2016 school year. I have experience working in various areas of education as an aide, after school coordinator, and teacher.
