I am beginning my 15th year as an educator at the LaVega Junior High George Dixon Campus. All my years of experience have been with middle school, and I'm excited about this unprecedented beginning of the 20-21 school year.
I grew up in the Texas Panhandle and worked in the management career field before deciding to finish my college education and become a teacher. I attended West Texas A&M University in the gorgeous town of Canyon, Texas, earning a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies.
This led me to my first teaching position in Killeen, Texas, where I spent 8 years at Live Oak Ridge Middle School learning and building a tremendous background as a highly qualified and trained teacher. During this time, I earned a Master's Degree in Educational Administration in 2013.
Since that time, I have remarried and moved to Waco. I taught for four years in Waco ISD at Tennyson Middle School. I have some deep roots in the LaVega school system as my husband and his family was raised here, so I decided to join the crew and become a part of the PIRATE family!! I am very excited and thankful to be given this opportunity to share my experience and knowledge with the people, and especially the students who will visit my classroom, of LaVega ISD!!
